Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family of this fine young man who died so needlessly, and our prayers for the repose of his soul as he takes his place among the other Officers who have proceeded him that make up the Honor Guard for our Lord in Heaven. When will Law Enforcement Administrators come to understand that Law Enforcement is not the Marines and never was intended to be. Men and women who spend lots of time on patrol or investigative capacity and suddenly find themselves within programs largely meant for 21 year olds and which are meant generally as a hazing and elimination procedure is unrealistic and should be abandoned. More and more fine officers are dying needless during police training and this is unacceptable. Training, and training officers, must be changed immediately so that no one else dies in training. Realistic Training Programs must be adopted and not programs that feed certain Commanders/Officers/Troopers ego's. May God bless this young man and all Officers/Troopers who have died needlessly during Training and their families who will feel the loss for as long as the survivors live; they will have a check, a photo and maybe a medal to hug at night, but the Training goes on without pausing to evaluate itself.
