Our hearts and prayers go out to this young Deputy and her family. She will now taker her place among the Officers,Deputies, Troopers and Agents who make up the Honor Guard of our Lord in Heaven. We pray that the Lord will send His Love and Angels to assuage the pain of the family and husband. May they be assured that they will see her again in Land beyond the pall just accross the river. As a horseman, trainer and breeder I know the gentle nature of most horses. I have met few mean horses. Horses are flight animals and easily frightened if they are not accustomed to crowds, people, noises and smells within an area. I have also ridden Mounted Police and know all too well what can happen at any moment. It is not the fault of the horse nor rider; things just happen sometimes. God made these wonderful creatures to help us along or way but we have to respect them at all times.

It is cruel irony that your life was ended while saving the life of another. Thank you for your willingness to serve, sacrifice and to continue giving as your organs live on, to again contribute to others. I pray that your family, friends, Ringo and the community will find peace and comfort as the world navigates without you. God Bless You Nichole.

Rest in Peace sister and watch over us. We will protect and serve from here on in your honor.

I fight not for glory or fame, for they are momentary. I fight for those who can't. I fight for Justice. I fight for the oppressed and the down trodden. And if I should lose my life for these just causes, then I have no regrets, For I serve to protect the innocent. It matters not where or when, for evil knows no boundaries. Be it fire, flood, or the threat of tyranny, I will not flee. Justice is my weapon. Faith is my shield. Hope is my armor. Cry not at my passing, for it was my Honor to fight for you. Shed not tears of sorrow, But tears of joy, for now, I stand with God.

It is cruel irony that Nichole lost her own life as a result of caring for the life of another in need. I have so much gratitude for her willingness to serve, sacrifice and provide someone else the blessing in donating her organs. I pray for comfort for her family, friends and her beloved horse Ringo as they grieve her in this tragedy. Ride high Nichole and God Bless.

Oh Deputy Nichole, how we will miss you and your compassion to serve others. Thank you for the time we had to share with you. I listened to Octaveon tell stories (memories) that the two of you shared over the last 4 years. What a love story! I remember the day that you walked into the Sheriff's Office to start the process to get onto the Mounted unit. The stories Jess talks about out in South Dakota chasing down buffalo. I know your Mounted parents have huge broken HEARTS. THANK YOU for your unconditional love for others. We know others will live because you have left us. GOD bless you Deputy Nichole Shuff. Fly high my Eagle..............We got your 6!!
