It is always so sad to see any Brother Officer of the Brown/Blue/Grey line fall victim to a Criminal Murderer. We can only send our love and prayers to our Lord for the soul of Sgt. Lopez and his dear family and especially his wife and two daughters. May our Lord cleans them of all sorry. and give them pride as they say the words: "My Daddy was a policeman." Even now your Sergeant has joined his other fallen Bretheren who preceded him and now they make room for your Sergeant in the Honor Guard for our Lord in Heaven and every day he will be bathed in the glory of our Lord as it streams forth like an Arizona sunset. Fear not, you will see your Sergeant again in that land just across the river.

Sgt Rick Lopez "RLo was a true friend and amazing man. He was dedicated to his family and made the safety and needs of his squad one of his top priorities.

RLo was a man of God and his character showed it. RLo came into every shift with a smile on his face.

RLo would tell us on every shift that the two top priorities were to go home at the end of your shift safely and to make it to retirement.

We are all deeply saddened that RLo took an early retirement to his new home with his Lord and Savior.

I feel how weak and fruitless must be any word of mine which should attempt to beguile you from the grief of a loss so overwhelming. But I cannot refrain from tendering you the consolation that may be found in the thanks of the Republic they died to save. I pray that our Heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost, and the solemn pride that must be yours to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of freedom.

Yours, very sincerely and respectfully,

Abraham Lincoln
