My name is Reigyn Joseph. I am 17 years old, and I recently wrote a poem to honor fallen Bluffton Police Officer Dominic Francis. I, myself, was going to go into law enforcement, but decided to serve in the military, but the recent news of the fallen officer hit close to home. I've always respected police officers and anyone who serves our communities and country. I have family members in law enforcement, so I can only imagine how the family feels right now. I want to send out my most sincere condolences to the Francis family. This is the poem:

Blue Line By: Reigyn Joseph

Protecting and Serving, not missing a beat
Keeping drugs and violence of the streets.
One their feet or in their car,
trying to keep the crime away far.
Putting their lives on the line everyday,
just to keep the crime locked away.
No matter religion or race,
there isn't a problem they won't face.
Saving lives day and night,
they are the brave of the Thin Blue Line.

Again, my deepest condolences for the francis family, and thank you Dominic Francis for your utmost service.

I was privileged to meet Dominic when he was just a young boy. His father and I served many years together with the Findlay Ohio Police Department.

I saw Dominic grow and it came as no surprise that he became a police officer. I have no words to describe the sorry that I feel, but I can not even imagine the sorry felt by his family right now.

Peace can only come from The Lord Jesus Christ! He can turn this tragedy, caused by evil, into something good. My household will be in prayer for the family of Officer Dominic Frances.

Rest in Peace brother and watch over us. We will protect and serve from here on in your honor.

I fight not for glory or fame, for they are momentary. I fight for those who can't. I fight for Justice. I fight for the oppressed and the down trodden. And if I should lose my life for these just causes, then I have no regrets, For I serve to protect the innocent. It matters not where or when, for evil knows no boundaries. Be it fire, flood, or the threat of tyranny, I will not flee. Justice is my weapon. Faith is my shield. Hope is my armor. Cry not at my passing, for it was my Honor to fight for you. Shed not tears of sorrow, But tears of joy, for now, I stand with God.
