Officer Sony Clerge,

Coming upon your 54th Birthday this weekend, may you continue to Rest in Peace. Happiest birthday (10/8) to you in heaven, even though you hate to celebrate your birthday. It has been a rough year for Kyle but he is doing so much better in the past six weeks. Please continue to guide both of us through this journey without you. Thank you for your dedication to the NYPD and mostly your dedication to our son, and always being there for me. Everything that you ever wanted for me and Kyle is coming into place, thanks to you. I definitely miss calling you every time Kyle does something good, and sending pictures and videos of him.

I was with Officer Clerge for 5 weeks in ESU EMT training when we and 7 other Officers came down with a severe case of Covid and Covid Pneumonia. We all ended up in the hospital with Officer Clerge being in the worst condition. May God Bless him and his family always and know that he is in a better place now and one day we will be together again. RIP BROTHER …

Most merciful God, You hold each of us dear to Your heart. Hold all our nation’s law enforcement officers and their families, who are afflicted or affected by the COVID-19 Virus, in Your loving arms and tenderly draw them into Your life, together with all others who are living with the COVID-19 Virus. Assure them that they are not alone, and give them courage and faith for all that is to come. Strengthen those who care for them and treat them, and guide those who do research. Forgive those who have judged harshly, and enlighten those who live in prejudice or fear. Nourish those who have lost sight of You, and heal the spirits of those who are broken. We pray this in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, who suffered and died, and then rose from the dead to lead us into new life, now and forever. In Christ Jesus, I pray. Amen.

“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons (children) of God.” [Matthew 5:9]
