Reflections for Captain Collin Birnie

A police officer should be remembered not by how he died but how he lived! A great man has gone to secure a safe path for the rest of us to follow. Thank you to you, your family and the Flint Police Department. Our country is a little less safe without you. Rest in Peace Brother!

Heavenly Father, You are Compassionate and Merciful. None of our nation’s law enforcement officers leave home without the fear of not returning at the end of their watch. It is a fear that is lived daily. Unfortunately, the worst does sometimes come to pass, and lives are left shattered. Lord God, bless and keep the hearts and souls of those who have lost loved ones in the line of duty. Wipe away the tears from their eyes. Soothe their pain and bind up their emotional wounds through the wounds of Your beloved Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. In His name, I pray. Amen.

“Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.” [Matthew 5:4]

Captain Birnie the people of Flint, MI thank you for your service to them just as the people of the United States thank you for your service to them during your time spent time in the Marine Corps. The gates of Heaven opened up to allow you to enter through them with peace and the rejoining of others whom you knew. Your sacrifice is duly noted and Semper Fi, Captain Birnie.
