A Dispatcher's nightmare is to lose one of you. I was working this day and status initially was unknown. Thoughts quickly go to hope and sadly in this case to a deep sense of loss for you and your LE family, Wife and Children. You are loved.

Formerly of Sac PD (my heart is still with you)

The true measure of a person
is not found in the
might of their arm,
their wealth
or their power –
it is found in the strength
of their character.

There is no greater testimony to
ones character, than ones
willingness to sacrifice all,
in the noble quest of
providing protection to all
whom they serve.

I was fortunate to have Officer Lenehan as a trainee when he joined the Galt Police Department family. Officer Lenehan was an amazing human being. His sense of humor and character was contagious to everyone who knew him. Anyone who knew him would understand when I say "Hot pockets." Rest in piece Big Dog. We will miss you tremendously.

I feel how weak and fruitless must be any word of mine which should attempt to beguile you from the grief of a loss so overwhelming. But I cannot refrain from tendering you the consolation that may be found in the thanks of the Republic they died to save. I pray that our Heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost, and the solemn pride that must be yours to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of freedom.

Yours, very sincerely and respectfully,

Abraham Lincoln

I worked a little with Ty during his "rookie" years at EGPD and I was impressed by his kind, caring and easy going nature but oh, that smile!! He has a smile that's infectious and he seemed to always be smiling. His time with us wasn't long but he sure made an impact. My heart breaks for his young family. I hope his children will grow up understanding their dad made a difference in the lives a many people. God bless the Lenehan family and may Ty rest in peace.
