Reflections for Deputy Sheriff David Cook

My friend - you were one of the first people I met when I joined the Sheriff's Dept. I will always appreciate and remember getting to work with you. I was with you the first time I ever accompanied a subject to the hospital. I know you remember that story, it was one you just cannot forget. Rest easy my friend.

Dave

To this day I think of all that we have been through together working side by side. Your friendship will always be treasured. There are so many things we had in common and I will always be there for your family if they need it. Please keep an eye out for all our fellow law enforcement officers that are on the job protecting the citizens of not only Kent County but the whole world. I miss you my friend.

The true measure of a person
is not found in the
might of their arm,
their wealth
or their power –
it is found in the strength
of their character.

There is no greater testimony to
ones character, than ones
willingness to sacrifice all,
in the noble quest of
providing protection to all
whom they serve.

Dave,

I sit here today (Christmas Day). I reflect on our 21 years working together and for the past several years working side by side in the East Precinct. It has been almost two months and I remember eating our lunch at 155 everyday at noon. It is times like those that continue to make me smile. You were a great guy, partner, father and a dedicated husband through thick and thin.

Life is better because of your friendship and we will always remember you Bro.
God speed.

We at the holdthelineshop.com will continue to share and support the fallen.

Rest in Peace brother and watch over us. We will protect and serve from here on in your honor.

I fight not for glory or fame, for they are momentary. I fight for those who can't. I fight for Justice. I fight for the oppressed and the down trodden. And if I should lose my life for these just causes, then I have no regrets, For I serve to protect the innocent. It matters not where or when, for evil knows no boundaries. Be it fire, flood, or the threat of tyranny, I will not flee. Justice is my weapon. Faith is my shield. Hope is my armor. Cry not at my passing, for it was my Honor to fight for you. Shed not tears of sorrow, But tears of joy, for now, I stand with God.
