The true measure of a person
is not found in the
might of their arm,
their wealth
or their power –
it is found in the strength
of their character.

There is no greater testimony to
ones character, than ones
willingness to sacrifice all,
in the noble quest of
providing protection to all
whom they serve.

My name is Patricia Pollack Amorosa, Joe was my younger brother. He had three brothers and myself. And he had a daughter in New York and Grandchildren as well. My sister in law Eva never contacted any of his New York family of his illness or death. We are so upset and shocked.
May my brother Joe Rest In Peace, he now is with our mom, dad, his oldest brother Eddie, and his brother Billy and my daughter Lisa, love you Joe.
Love your sister Patricia

I have been a member of the Douglas County Sheriff's Office as one of the Community Safety Volunteers for 9 years. It was one of my privileges' to work with Joe both on the road and in the Detentions Facility whenever he would bring in a suspect. The last time I saw Joe was at the Emergency Vehicle Operation Center the day before he caught the Covid 19 Virus. He will be greatly missed!

Detective Pollack, thank you for your service. Far too many LEOs are succumbing to this obnoxious illness. We cannot even begin to guess when this will end as it just seems to continue on and on and on. So long as those who know and love you best keep you in their hearts and minds, you will never truly be gone.

God Bless you, Brother and may you forever Rest in Peace.
