For those that didn't know him Deputy Poffenroth was extremely dedicated to his family and his career. He was the type of man that would give you the shirt off of his back and the shoes off his feet if you needed it. Whether on or off duty he was always there when called (and sometimes even when he wasn't) just to ensure the safety of his fellow Deputies and citizens. He helped encourage me to be a better person and to not settle working job to job. He helped motivate me to go back to school and get my Diploma and to start my career as a dispatcher. Your watch has ended brother but you will always be with us.

The true measure of a person
is not found in the
might of their arm,
their wealth
or their power –
it is found in the strength
of their character.

There is no greater testimony to
ones character, than ones
willingness to sacrifice all,
in the noble quest of
providing protection to all
whom they serve.
