Reflections for Police Officer Andrew Robert MacDonald

Andy, it has now been 2 years since we lost you! Life is not the same. We have several memorials set up around the house that reminds me of your life.

I am and always have been so proud of you.

I thank God for allowing me to enjoy 46 years of having you as my son. Though ending not as I had hoped, I am trusting the Lord who does all things well, that He has protected you from future harm and hurt by taking you Home as He did!

Your view from the other side of eternity now allows you to see the big picture and answers the question so many of us ask, “Why”?

May all who knew and loved you find the personal relationship with Jesus satisfying and fulfilling as we all march toward that final day before we all stand before our Savior, giving thanks to Him for His great sacrifice for us!

Love you son!

The true measure of a person
is not found in the
might of their arm,
their wealth
or their power –
it is found in the strength
of their character.

There is no greater testimony to
ones character, than ones
willingness to sacrifice all,
in the noble quest of
providing protection to all
whom they serve.

Big Mac, I miss ya Brother. Thank you for being a best friend to everyone. We had lots of good times on nights and I was glad that it was you backing me. I was honored that you were in my wedding and gave a great but funny best man speech. You and Nancy have done so much for me, far as support. I love you and miss those bear hugs. Byron GPPD #305

Andrew was my dear friend of several years. He was funny, smart, kind, adventurous, helpful, and had a contagious personality and sense of humor. I'm still shocked that he's gone, especially since he was still so young. This world will be a little less bright now that he is not in it. My condolences go out to his family, especially his wife Nancy. God bless your soul, Andrew. May God give you peace and return your spirit back to when you were healthy and well, and God bless your family and wife. May He give them strength and comfort every day of their lives.

Rest in Peace brother and watch over us. We will protect and serve from here on in your honor.

I fight not for glory or fame, for they are momentary. I fight for those who can't. I fight for Justice. I fight for the oppressed and the down trodden. And if I should lose my life for these just causes, then I have no regrets, For I serve to protect the innocent. It matters not where or when, for evil knows no boundaries. Be it fire, flood, or the threat of tyranny, I will not flee. Justice is my weapon. Faith is my shield. Hope is my armor. Cry not at my passing, for it was my Honor to fight for you. Shed not tears of sorrow, But tears of joy, for now, I stand with God.
