The true measure of a person
is not found in the
might of their arm,
their wealth
or their power –
it is found in the strength
of their character.

There is no greater testimony to
ones character, than ones
willingness to sacrifice all,
in the noble quest of
providing protection to all
whom they serve.

I will miss you Ty. I enjoyed the nearly 20 years we worked together; the fun times, the scary times, and off duty times. I will treasure the moments when our families spent time together. May the lord keep you and watch over your wife and kids. We'll take the watch from here my friend.

May you Rest In Peace Officer Powell, and may your family and fellow officers at the Windsor PD find comfort in the knowledge that God’s plan will reunite us all together again someday.

I remember working a few shifts with Officer Powell and sharing our connection of having the same last name. He could not have been kinder to me and I took great comfort knowing he had my six. I witnessed first hand how he served his community fearlessly and professionally. He will be missed by all. Thank you Sir.

Rest in Peace brother and watch over us. We will protect and serve from here on in your honor.

I fight not for glory or fame, for they are momentary. I fight for those who can't. I fight for Justice. I fight for the oppressed and the down trodden. And if I should lose my life for these just causes, then I have no regrets, For I serve to protect the innocent. It matters not where or when, for evil knows no boundaries. Be it fire, flood, or the threat of tyranny, I will not flee. Justice is my weapon. Faith is my shield. Hope is my armor. Cry not at my passing, for it was my Honor to fight for you. Shed not tears of sorrow, But tears of joy, for now, I stand with God.

Ty Powell was my second cousin, classmate, and birthday twin. We knew each other until around second grade when I moved from Walden to Ft. Collins. Later we re-connected briefly on Facebook. I have very fond memories of My cousin Ty as boys in elementary school, and I know he will be greatly missed. I offer my sincere heartfelt condolences to his family and friends. May the Lord have you now in His tender care Ty. Thank you for serving, and protecting all of us. Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life, for his friends. Farewell for now.
