Apparently I am a day late and a dollar short. Troy was a great guy and a great cop. I was proud to have worked with him at OPD and I can still see his goofy smile and remember his quick wit and great sense of humor. A great loss. To his family, I’m very sorry you lost him.

Hey Troy,
Just to let you know, the Police Department had its end of school year lunchoen at which time the department officially retired your call number from duty. Your wife attended and the department presented her with a plaque in your honor.
The organization from Spokane Washington (Beyond the Call of Duty Ride to Remember 2021) stopped by the Police Department and also had a dedication in your honor.
Nimitz Middle School dedicated its 2022 year book to you.
Rest Easy Our Friend (Gone But Not Forgotton).

The true measure of a person
is not found in the
might of their arm,
their wealth
or their power –
it is found in the strength
of their character.

There is no greater testimony to
ones character, than ones
willingness to sacrifice all,
in the noble quest of
providing protection to all
whom they serve.

Rest in Peace brother and watch over us. We will protect and serve from here on in your honor.

I fight not for glory or fame, for they are momentary. I fight for those who can't. I fight for Justice. I fight for the oppressed and the down trodden. And if I should lose my life for these just causes, then I have no regrets, For I serve to protect the innocent. It matters not where or when, for evil knows no boundaries. Be it fire, flood, or the threat of tyranny, I will not flee. Justice is my weapon. Faith is my shield. Hope is my armor. Cry not at my passing, for it was my Honor to fight for you. Shed not tears of sorrow, But tears of joy, for now, I stand with God.

It was a privilege and a honor to have known Troy for twenty-six years. From the time we were Sergeants working at the Odessa Police Department and the time working at the ECISD Police department.

Troy, I have and will miss our conversations of life and family and even sometimes our small disagreements about the law. You let me think I was right, when you thought you always were.

Troy, it was a great privilege to have walked beside you during "The Walk of Honor".

Rest Easy my Friend and enjoy Paradise with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
