Reflections for Police Officer Carl Lee Proper

My family and I are all still in shock that you are gone. I worked with this man and know he had my back the same way that had his. No words can say the way I feel when I think about you little brother. I know you are resting easy now but I can’t help but think the next phone call will be from you saying; “Just Kidding! You know I’m living the dream. “ Until we meet again my friend; Rest In Peace.

To the best friend a fellow officer could ask for and my first Sargent in this line of work and after 13 years doing it together it shattered my souls to find you have left us my brother. All the laughs over the years and altercations at work with the criminals. Regardless of the situation you always made us laugh. You were like a brother and best friend and now I’m left with all the Great memories of law enforcement together and the times we spent together outside of work. To my brother in blue you will never be forgotten. I’m saddened daily of all the plans we made for this fall for you I to come and visit us in our new house and hunt together again. May you RIP brother, badge 825. Luv ya

Rest in Peace brother and watch over us. We will protect and serve from here on in your honor.

I fight not for glory or fame, for they are momentary. I fight for those who can't. I fight for Justice. I fight for the oppressed and the down trodden. And if I should lose my life for these just causes, then I have no regrets, For I serve to protect the innocent. It matters not where or when, for evil knows no boundaries. Be it fire, flood, or the threat of tyranny, I will not flee. Justice is my weapon. Faith is my shield. Hope is my armor. Cry not at my passing, for it was my Honor to fight for you. Shed not tears of sorrow, But tears of joy, for now, I stand with God.

Heavenly Father, You commit to us the swift and solemn trust of life: since we know not what a day may bring forth, but only that the hour for serving You is always present, may we wake to the instant claims of Your will upon our lives. In the face of questions without answers, of dreams unfulfilled, of the emptiness that will not go away, we are only compelled to thank You always for lives faithfully lived, for good memories and living hopes. We are reminded as we pray for family and friends who are touched with the feeling of sorrow, that we pray to one who does not let go unnoticed even the falling of a sparrow to earth. We pray to one who weeps for his world, and therefore we come trusting that in life or death, we may find rest and comfort in Him. In Christ Jesus, I pray. Amen
