Samuel Leonard was a part of an amazing family in Lamesa, TX. He leaves behind a wife of 4 years, and a 2 year old daughter. His service to the community of Lamesa, and in Eden, will always be appreciated. Such a senseless tragedy, but he wore the badge with honor and commitment. Our prayers are with your family Samuel. THANK YOU for your service!!

Old breed? New breed? There’s not a damn bit of difference as long as it’s the Marine Breed”..As Chesty Puller would say about his Marines. This statement holds true as well in Law Enforcement. We are one and we mourn our loss. God Bless you and your family. Semper Fi...

I feel how weak and fruitless must be any word of mine which should attempt to beguile you from the grief of a loss so overwhelming. But I cannot refrain from tendering you the consolation that may be found in the thanks of the Republic they died to save. I pray that our Heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost, and the solemn pride that must be yours to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of freedom.

Yours, very sincerely and respectfully,

Abraham Lincoln

Lord Jesus Christ, You came to earth to show us what true love looks like. You taught us that love was about sacrifice, virtue, and service. You taught us that love means to lay down your life for one another. For fallen law enforcement officers everywhere, we thank You, O Lord, for their selfless example of courage and valor. We ask that You would bless and keep the families, friends, and colleagues of these fallen law enforcement officers. Wipe every tear from their eyes, O Lord. Help them to heal and to move forward in a way that honors the memories of their loved ones in Blue. In Christ Jesus, I pray for all those law enforcement officers who have fallen in the Line-of-Duty. Amen.

During His 3-Year Ministry, Jesus proclaimed, “Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.” [John 15:13 ESV]
