While it is always a tragedy to see fine officers go down in the line, it is especially sad to learn that a fellow "Tar Heel" has passed. North Carolina is justifiably proud of our thin "Grey Line" and the Troopers of the North Carolina State Highway Patrol. I have worked with them in my younger days and know of their integrity first hand. The loss of this fine man is something which we can ill afford. Our prayers go out to our Merciful Lord for this Trooper and for his family. May the Lord grant them the grace to bear their sorrow in the knowledge that they shall see their Trooper again standing beside the throne of our God and proudly wearing the immaculate grey uniform that was his pride in this life. Rest well, Top!
