Officer Parde, such a sad, disheartening story about the world we live in. Young boys that caused so much pain. Your life must have been so difficult, and yet I am very happy to see that you had a smiling face as you held ( I am guessing) a grandchild! They did not take it all from you! Go with God now. I had The honor to meet this fine officer. Was shortly after he was shot and he was flown in to the Atlanta area by the air ambulance side or the ambulance service I worked for. My partner and I took him to Shepard Spinal Center for further rehabilitation. Rest In Peace

To honor Police Officer Parde, POINT 27 sent 27 Thin Blue Line Dog Tag Necklaces, engraved with “Blessed are the Peacemakers for they will be called children of God” Matthew 5:9, to the Lexington Police Department in Lexington, North Carolina for David’s partner and fellow officers. POINT 27 sent two Folded Flag Necklaces engraved with “Greater Love has no one than this; than to lay down one’s life for one’s friend” John 15:13 for Police Officer
David Parde’s wife and mother.

POINT 27 is a Non-Profit organization with a mission to strengthen and encourage members of the Armed Forces, First Responders, and their families, by sharing scripture on Dog Tags and Jewelry called Shields of Strength.

The death of Officer Parde is the second officer to fall within the line of duty that I know of was a member of the Lexington Police Dept. The first was Officer George Lashley formerly a class mate at DCCC and the Chief of Police in Gibsonville, NC. Chief Lashley was an officer I admired a lot. At the time of his death I was a Deputy with the Guilford County Sheriff's Department. Chief Lashley was checking a suspicious vehicle parked at the Gibsonville Water Plant in the early A.M. He had gotten a suspicious man out of the vehicle and had him handcuffed and standing outside the vehicle by the driver's door. Chief went to the passenger side of the vehicle to conduct a search of the vehicle. As he leaned into the car the suspect pulled a small caliber from his clothing and shot Chief Lashley. The bullet glanced off his collar bone and struck an artery. The Chief died within minutes of the incident. I don't remember the suspect's name but he was given a long sentence in the NC prison system. In my career I have lost several LEO friends to a senseless act of violence. Rest in peace Officer Parde.
