Unfortunately, the worst does sometimes come to pass, and lives are left shattered. O merciful Lord, bless and keep the hearts and souls of those who have lost loved ones in the line of duty. Wipe away the tears from their eyes. Soothe their pain and bind up their wounds through the wounds of Your beloved Son, Jesus. Amen.

You had a heart of gold to have stopped to offer some assistance to what appeared to be a motorist in need of help, only to have your life taken away too soon.
