Compassionate Father, no police officer leaves home without the fear of not returning at the end of the watch. It is a fear that is lived daily. Unfortunately, the worst does sometimes come to pass, and lives are left shattered. O merciful Lord, bless and keep the hearts and souls of those who have lost loved ones in the line of duty. Wipe away the tears from their eyes. Soothe their pain and bind up their wounds through the wounds of Your beloved Son, Jesus. Amen.

P. O. IV SIDNEY F. GARAUDY (RETIRED)

It is with great sadness that I read about the unfortunate passing of an officer. You had a heart of gold to have stopped to offer some assistance to what appeared to be a motorist in need of help, only to have your life taken away too soon. May your family find peace knowing that you went above and beyond the call of duty. Police, Fire or EMS, we are all one family. Thank you for your service, sir!!

A police officer should be remembered not by how he died, but how he lived! A great man has gone to secure a safe path for the rest of us to follow. Thank you to you, your family and the Texas Highway Patrol. Our country is a little less safe without you. Rest in Peace Brother!
