Trooper Joseph Gallagher was the epitome of what service to his community meant. While his 'fight' is over, he will remain with all of those who knew and loved him. His loss is a loss to all of us and a lesson in what it means to be brave, dedicated and a true example of what the word HERO is defined by.

May your next journey be blessed with rest, peace and the knowledge of what you represented the NYSP as a prime example of a Trooper.

I spent many days working on the L.I.E . in Emergency Service at NCPD from 75-80. We did not have cell phone problems then , just inattentive operators . I and my working partners had many a close call . I know how dangerous this work is.
God bless and keep you. Rest in Peace , and may God grant solace to your family.
