Reflections for Officer Jesse Peter Madsen

I couldn’t sleep the other night so restless, things have been so up and down for the whole world but I couldn’t stop waking up shaking... I didn’t realize the date, Now I know why I couldn’t sleep. Jesse may you be at peace in Heaven may the a lord watch over your family and brothers and sisters in uniform and may your story lead to a change in the choices Drunk Drivers make.... like praying for Sobriety, MADD, Police, wise choices, and people taking sober rides home. Miss you always praying for your family and Police everywhere, thank you for paying the ultimate sacrifice..... always and forever Andi

I’ve just watched all I could find about that early morning you went and fulfilled the last day on the job and paying the ultimate price. I saw the Police that morning I was working but was heartbroken over any Officer injured but when I found out it was you I was literally sick,

I am so against drunk drivers and anyone who injured or kills any Officer.. You were a friend and a great Husband and Hero Officer , it just prob came natural to give all you had to protect others that day in March this year (2021) I write this at 3:43am pulled over in the spot where I just say your crosses planted yesterday early working I just knew it was you.

You taught me a lot about different ways of thinking about things in life and dealing with people in difficult situations but it hurts so much to be staring at the cross and wondering how your family is doing I can’t imagine , I saw them on the news and it just broke my heart ...

I’m so sorry I know you’re in heaven you were a hero a long time ago And you left this earth one also, you were born to help others you had to be strong but just like the night I met you with my children looking for those who stole my paintings , something I felt too small to even think that an officer would go out of their way to help me you didn’t think it was too small and I’m sure you have touched so many peoples lives through the years that you were an officer ..

Today was an on believably hard day and I was I wanted to do was talk to a friend and here I sit by myself still staring at the cross with your name on it I want to go put a light on it I don’t know if I’m allowed to or if I can even go put anything by it but I want to put these little blue lights by it to remind people this is not just a job being enough so this is your life your family‘s life your kids life your parents life wish more people understood that and really would take it easy on the officers I try so hard every time I see an officer to stop and say thank you for what you do I don’t think they really understand how much I mean When I say that my uncle you knew this was captain please Department not here in Tampa but any of my parents used to threaten me when I was little that if I was acting up I had to go live with my uncle and aunt and my two cousins they grew up to be amazing people one actually serving in the Marines so many things I never said thank you for I really appreciate being treated like I was a person and that somebody really cared about the small things like those little paintings but we never found right now as I read the comments and I have heard the people speak on the news about you it’s plain to see that you were a huge part of Tampa when they said you were the cops cops I absolutely agree but you also could relate to people maybe people that other people would consider important you didn’t let that bother you you still would go out of your way to try to help people sure you have a mansion and have been now one day you’ll see your family again until then I pray they’ve got it from here and I’m always here to help out anything to back the blue .

I feel you will continue to be remembered and thought about as an officer who could relate to both sides normal people I mean not normal people but civilians Marines and police all police I’m sure we’ll year one day but what you did the day you saved so many more..

. You’re a hero and always were and you always will be remembered as that I made you a promise today to continue to pray for your family I finally got to see your family on tv not in pictures, they were grieving on TV but if. It hurts me this bad just a friend feeling this loss... I can’t imagine what your family feels but I know they’re proud of you..

I wish I could’ve told you I finally signed up for criminal justice classes after getting my ged and pushing through my fears and doing what I finally thought I was meant to do I wanted to be a hero like y’all but I couldn’t and I can’t do it as well as all the officers I’ve met I believe God has something else for me to do still not sure what it is yet but I prayed that all those kids that you reached when you were working and all those people you talk to while you were on the job I pray that they hear about what happened and it just reminds him of you and the time you took out of your schedule to just be among everyone else and you didn’t make it feel weird to us civilians..

You are and will be missed I will never forget when I can do it I will add your name to my car I don’t want to I never thought I would put the name down or EOW date of an Officer I knew.

All officers need to be more respected and I will never stop fighting for that believe me I have separated myself from a great deal of people that do not care for my beliefs but I will stand behind the police and I will be there and I will be quiet but I will pray that one day both sides can see it from the other and see that this is hard it’ll only get better if we choose to see it from the other side ....

Thank you for being such an inspiration thank you to all the officers to their families for being there to support him never stop never give up it’s got to be hard on both sides it really really does but a lot of people don’t make it easy to be an officer God bless y’all Godspeed .

To this day every time I see one I just say a quick prayer and if I get the chance to let them know how much I appreciate everything that the men and women do and the difference you all have made on my life I can’t imagine how many other lives each of you officers have the opportunity to touch every day complete strangers people you guys and girls have maybe forgotten or don’t remember will never forget how you made them feel and I am so grateful for the police .

I was taught as a child do you always be respectful and obedient to officers no matter what I felt and I have always stuck to that I wish more people would teach their kids to do that nowadays...

Please all officers and everyone that comes to these pages pray for the families never stop praying for them because that pain never leaves and also pray for safety for their families it has to be the hardest job to be the wife or the husband of an officer not knowing every day but still continuing this fight that officers fight daily ...

I hear every day every day if I watch the news somewhere someone saying they feel different I feel like they’re treated wrong or not heard I’ve never once seen a police officer stand up and say that but I guarantee you they have felt it so please try to do your best to teach others to respect and try to make this world a better place try to make it better for our children and when we were remember all of the officers that have given their life to keep us safe and out of harms way even though that may mean never seen their families again we just remember to pray I make tomorrow different ...

please everyone that reads this understand please this is not a job that I know firsthand because I’m a civilian but I have had many Officer friends and I still try to keep in contact with them and see how they’re feeling I get the same answer every time from everyone there feeling fine but please know that just with a little bit of schooling I had I got to see firsthand how the other side felt even though through the brave young face is coming in to college to apply as officers and start their training they were putting on a brave face while under Nice they may have been shaking they still put on their armor every day they deserve us to remember that it’s not just a job and it’s not just what they signed up for it is their life it is their families life it is a friends life now and we all worry but we have to find those people that make us reach out side Side of ourselves like Officer (J.P Madsen) And look for the best in people but also try and learn from them.

These brave officers may they be your family friends or people you’ve met they may not talk about what they go through or what they see but they need to know that you’re there to talk to pray without ceasing because it really does ... It matters every prayer that goes up matters!!

So keep fighting the good fight everyone there is light at the end of the tunnel and thank you all officers and all the officers families who have lost their loved ones and can’t stop thinking about them they are in heaven they are safe there without pain and they are Watching over you and your families please have comfort in knowing that ...

(I did speech to text because my hands were shaking so bad so please forgive me if there are any words that are misspelled God bless everybody please be safe and pray for one another & one another’s families)

(To the one Who decides what can be posted on this site please know that I am not sure of the rules of what I can exactly post and takeoff whatever I am not supposed to if there is some thing but I really wanted to post this prayer on here that are very wise man wrote years ago...,

This was not written by me and anybody that’s ever read read this prayer knows this it is the ‘policeman‘s prayer’

The Policeman's Prayer to St. Michael

St. Michael, heaven's glorious Commissioner of Police,
who once so neatly and successfully cleared God's premises
of all its undesirables, look with kindly and professional
eyes on your earthly force.

Give us cool heads, stout hearts, hard punches, and uncanny flair for
investigation and wise judgment.

Make us the terror of burglars, the friends of children and
law-abiding citizens, kind to strangers, polite to bores,
strict with law-breakers and impervious to temptations.

In troubles and riots give us sheer muscle without temper; at the police count, give us love for truth and evidence without any thought of self.

You know, St. Michael, from your own experiences
with the devil that the policeman's lot on earth is not
always a happy one; but your sense of duty that so
pleased God, your hard knocks that so surprised the
devil, and your angelic self- control give us inspiration. Make us as loyal to the law of God as we are particular about the law of the land.

And when we lay down our night sticks, enroll us in your
heavenly force, where we will be as proud to guard the
throne of God as we have been to guard the city of all the people.

Officer Madsen likely did this on purpose, to prevent the driver from colliding with a civilian. We'll never know. Regardless of whether it was intentional or accidental, someone/people is/are alive because of his bravery. We will hold the line, Brother. You have served well and your Brothers and Sisters in Blue will carry your watch from here. Til Valhalla, Be Fierce.

The true measure of a person
is not found in the
might of their arm,
their wealth
or their power –
it is found in the strength
of their character.

There is no greater testimony to
ones character, than ones
willingness to sacrifice all,
in the noble quest of
providing protection to all
whom they serve.

In Honor of your Sacrifice and for your family and friends, I salute you as a HERO!

"The Badge"

He starts his shift each day
To respond to calls unknown.
He drives a marked patrol car.
A police officer he is known.

He's paid by the citizens' taxes
To make it safe on the streets.
But he usually has a second job
'Cause a waitress has his salary beat.

Now he doesn't know a holiday
'Cause he works all year round.
And when Thanksgiving and Christmas finally arrive
At his home he cannot be found.

He's cursed and assaulted often,
The one whose blood runs blue.
He seldom ever gets a thanks,
To some he's just a fool.

His friends are always other cops
'Cause people just don't understand
That underneath his badge and gun,
He's just another man.

He knows there might not be a tomorrow
In this world of drugs and crime.
And he gets so mad at the court system
'Cause the crooks don't get any time.

And each day when he leaves for work,
He prays to God above.
Please bring me home after my shift
So I can see the ones I love.

But tonight he stops a speeding car,
He's alone down this ole' highway.
It's just a little traffic infraction.
He does it everyday.

Well, he walks up to the driver's window,
And his badge is shining bright.
He asked the guy for a driver's license,
When a shot rang through the night.

Yes, the bullet hit its mark,
Striking the officer in the chest.
But the Department's budget didn't buy
Each officer a bullet-proof vest.

So he lay on the ground bleeding.
His blood wasn't blue - His blood was red.
And briefly he thought of his loved ones
'Cause in a moment the officer was dead.

In the news they told the story
Of how this officer had died.
And some who listened cared less,
But those who loved him cried.

Well, they buried him in uniform
With his badge pinned on his chest.
He even had his revolver,
He died doing his best.
