Reflections for Deputy Sheriff Michael James Magli

I had the pleasure of working with Deputy Magli when he first started with Pinellas County Sheriff as a civilian Criminal Justice Specialist. He was such an amazing person, and you could tell law enforcement and serving his community was his passion, as well as his family.

You are missed greatly. We will take it from here brother.

To the family at home and in blue.. I came today to the funeral, I’ve never been to any funeral in my life let alone for an Officer I just wrote on my car the night I found out. 2/17/21 I am so sorry I didn’t know what to say but prayed the whole time, while trying to hold back the tears, your family will always be in my prayers and I am so sorry for your loss. When the service was over I had to go sit in my car and take it all in again but the funeral for my first time.

To see all who came loved ones, fellow Officers, Military, Bikers even Officers from different counties.. The day I heard of your death I could only imagine the feelings your family must have had... But I know your in Heaven looking down watching over your family, to hear them speak of you was heartbreaking but also... I saw another side of you that Had everyone’s eyes red and teary.. I had only wrote about what I heard and researched...

Your life was not in vain, I called my mom crying telling her about the brave Police Officer I had made a TikTok about when it happened, and how many showed up to honor your memory and bravery.

She said she’ll pray for your family but I should focus on you being the hero you are and the hearts you’ve touched...

Your in Heaven now and in Peace, we will all be here for your family both the blue and those of us who never even met you. May you Rest In Peace and your family be more than assured you are in Heaven and one day they’ll see you again..

Until then we pray , we will not forget you nor what you did to save others that day. Thank you so much for your service and your bravery, may all the Officers that were there know that you were kind and remembered for who you truly were family and a true hero!
