So sad that in these times of turmoil, we lose a young man who had just begun his police career. It is awful and saddens me greatly that he gave his life in service to his community. I wish him God speed to his heavenly life and am proud of him and all that continue to serve in these uncertain times. God bless him and all that keep up the service to others.

I feel how weak and fruitless must be any word of mine which should attempt to beguile you from the grief of a loss so overwhelming. But I cannot refrain from tendering you the consolation that may be found in the thanks of the Republic they died to save. I pray that our Heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost, and the solemn pride that must be yours to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of freedom.

Yours, very sincerely and respectfully,

Abraham Lincoln

Though I met you only a handful of times, I want to say thank you Brandon for your dedication to our community and commitment to the badge. I thank your family as well, for allowing the light of their life to be a part of our blue brotherhood. Just as much as you saw other officers as having influenced your life in a positive way, you should know that you also made a tremendous impact on those around you. I thank God for loaning you to this world. Rest in Heaven Brother!
