Lord our God, the death of our brother, Police Officer Michael L. Henry, Jr. of the Derry Township PA Police Department, recalls our human condition and the brevity of our lives on earth. But for those who believe in Your love death is not the end, nor does it destroy the bonds that You forge in our lives. We share the faith of Your Son’s disciples and the hope of the children of God. Bring the light of Christ’s resurrection to this time of testing and pain as we pray for Police Officer Michael L. Henry, Jr. and for those who love him, through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Mike. I was honored to work at DTPD with you as you were beginning your career with the Department. I still can see your smiling face, and remember how proud you were to be a police officer. Derry Township was lucky to have you. Your family was even more blessed than your brothers and sisters in blue were. Rest In Peace, brother. Watch over us. Thanks for your service.

Officer Henry,
On today, the 1st anniversary of your death I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice-not just for your Community but for our Country as well when you served with the U.S. Army in Europe during the Cold War as a member of the 3rd “Marne” Infantry Division. And to your Family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.

On behalf of my family, I extend our sincerest condolences on the grievous loss you suffered when Michael died in the line of duty.

To the Henry family, fellow officers, and all who call Michael beloved, my heart goes out to all of you and may you find comfort in your loved ones and your strength in your faith. When my son was killed, the entire law enforcement community in our area embraced us in a circle of love and support, and I know you will receive the same support. It makes the unbearable less torturous, and I pray for your solace.

This reflection is sent with the utmost respect for the dedicated service Officer Henry gave to his community and the citizens of Pennsylvania as a police officer and to his country through his military service, and for the supreme sacrifice he and his family made on January 2, 2020.
