My heart breaks once again to read about our fallen brother. Riding a motor on the job is one of the most difficult duties assigned and unfortunately Officer Ornelas was taken from us. My deepest thoughts and prayers to his entire immediate family, his uncle, my former Lt. Andre Ornelas and the Antelope Valley office crew.

A police officer should be remembered not by how he died, but how he lived! A great man has gone to secure a safe path for the rest of us to follow. Thank you to you, your family and the California Highway Patrol. Our country is a little less safe without you. Rest in Peace Brother!
