May you see God’s light on the path ahead
When the road you walk is dark.
May you always hear,
Even in your hour of sorrow,
The gentle singing of the lark.
When times are hard may hardness
Never turn your heart to stone,
May you always remember
when the shadows fall –
You do not walk alone.

I feel how weak and fruitless must be any word of mine which should attempt to beguile you from the grief of a loss so overwhelming. But I cannot refrain from tendering you the consolation that may be found in the thanks of the Republic they died to save. I pray that our Heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost, and the solemn pride that must be yours to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of freedom.

Yours, very sincerely and respectfully,

Abraham Lincoln

May God rest Deputy Jared Allison's soul.. What a horrible situation . This man of honor, protecting his community, appears to be all about restoring order through his devoted traffic enforcement and commitment to public safety throughout service with his organization. May we all learn from his tradgic , untimely , ultimate sacrifice ... We can still be inspired by where we are that can truly know God has said , "well done My Good and Faithful servant ", that if we could say something to him, it should be, ( as sadly has been said many times before )" we will take it from here.."
