I'm convinced that as a cop you always have to expect the unexpected. Too many people have no concern or compassion for anyone. A police officer who devoted 41 years to his community's safety is taken away in the blink of an eye. It is just unconscionable. If ever there was a reason to have capital punishment, this is the reason. To top it off, the suspect knew his family was on the other side of that door. As well as police officers. Godspeed Sgt. Preston. Much love and many prayers to your family.

My thoughts and prayers are with the family! Just another murder of an Officer that only wanted to help! I lost my son in the line of duty when dispatched to a shots fired call! He discovered a blood trail and was trying to find the victim who then ambushed him and his partner, killing both, and of course the
murdered survived! It hurts, and I am learning that it always will! To the family of Sgt, Preston, my heart aches with your hearts!

The Lord is near to the broken hearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. Psalms 34:18. We are sending prayers of comfort to the loved ones of Sgt. Preston and to the Houston PD.
“This nation will remain the land of the free only so long as it is the home of the brave“. Sgt. Harold Preston will now be watching over his brave brothers and sisters in law enforcement. His bravery is “in the books” for all to see.
