I remember him coming by nearly a year before his untimely passing, he was due for a new body armor and I had fitted him into a new one. We were chatting about when he was gonna retire and he told me that he was gonna pull off one more year... you truly deserved to retire in peace, you will be missed by everyone on the Houston Police Department.

The true measure of a person
is not found in the
might of their arm,
their wealth
or their power –
it is found in the strength
of their character.

There is no greater testimony to
ones character, than ones
willingness to sacrifice all,
in the noble quest of
providing protection to all
whom they serve.

I God rest your soul brother. You were going to retire in a matter of weeks after 41 years of service. You could have chosen to take vacation days or stayed in the station, Yet you answered a call involving one of the most dangerous calls a police officer can answer - domestic violence disturbance. You answered a call for help at the last moment. Thank you for your dedication, service, and commitment to your community but above all - your badge.
