May the Lord grant you his family His peace as you go through this time of sorrow and loss. I can't imagine the shock and trauma you are going through upon receiving the news of Ryan's death. The "whys" will not be answered but over time you will heal but never forget the tragic day of his death. I am so sorry for your loss.

An on-duty death of a police officer is gut wrenching for our law-enforcement family because there is a special bond among our brothers and sisters in blue. My condolences to the Henderson County Sheriff's Dept. Thank you all for your service and protection during these troubling times.

Thank you for your service. You showed the world you were one of the best by earning the title United States Marine. You even took it a step further and showed how much you cared for others by becoming a police officer. That makes you a hero in my eyes. My respects Sir.

I feel how weak and fruitless must be any word of mine which should attempt to beguile you from the grief of a loss so overwhelming. But I cannot refrain from tendering you the consolation that may be found in the thanks of the Republic they died to save. I pray that our Heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost, and the solemn pride that must be yours to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of freedom.

Yours, very sincerely and respectfully,

Abraham Lincoln

Deputy Hendrix, you are Hero in so many ways as I read the details of this tragedy. You led a life of service to your country as a Marine and then on as a Deputy Sheriff. In your death, you gave life to others through organ donation. I Thank you for your brave service and I thank your family for their continued sacrifice as they made tough decisions. It sounds to me that they loved you very much and knew you well. Rest in Peace, Brother. Go with God.
