Reflections for Deputy Sheriff William Robert Garner

Bill, you are sorely missed. The late night discussions and watching you devour a bag of Doritos will be forever memories. Your love and dream girl, the four legged children, and you cherishing your stable of Trans Am's (nobody knew more than you) bring smiles to those of us close to you.
We've got the watch and I am dedicated to caring for the family that had to stay behind. That's what family does.
I miss you bro and wish I could have been your chief. You ALWAYS had my 6 covered and were top notch. Not a day goes by that I don't think you and wish you were here with us.
I'm so proud of how you did your job Deputy...To Protect And Serve fulfilled!

Bill was my brother. Bless all of you who remember him. He loved working among you and was so proud to be part of what you are. I miss him and the retirement we will not share together, but I am thankful for the part of himself he shared with you and that you remember now. Thin blue line.

Sheriff Garner, my heart cries for your parents you have left behind. It is against the law of nature for a son to die before his parents, and I cannot imagine their sorrow over the loss of their son. We can only trust in God’s infinite wisdom and to trust in Him. May He immerse you and your loved ones in His Divine Mercy. Rest in peace, good and faithful servant.

Rest in Peace brother and watch over us. We will protect and serve from here on in your honor.

I fight not for glory or fame, for they are momentary. I fight for those who can't. I fight for Justice. I fight for the oppressed and the down trodden. And if I should lose my life for these just causes, then I have no regrets, For I serve to protect the innocent. It matters not where or when, for evil knows no boundaries. Be it fire, flood, or the threat of tyranny, I will not flee. Justice is my weapon. Faith is my shield. Hope is my armor. Cry not at my passing, for it was my Honor to fight for you. Shed not tears of sorrow, But tears of joy, for now, I stand with God.

My condolences to his family, friends and co-workers. I have written the following poem:
God is control;
He has sent his ministering angles
to watch over those who are
suffering knowing, in your heart,
You would gladly take their stead;
These are the unsung heroes of today
who forge ahead.

They have God's enforcement

The true measure of a person
is not found in the
might of their arm,
their wealth
or their power –
it is found in the strength
of their character.

There is no greater testimony to
ones character, than ones
willingness to sacrifice all,
in the noble quest of
providing protection to all
whom they serve.
