Reflections for Sergeant Craig Vincent Johnson

A police officer should be remembered not by how he died, but how he lived! A great man has gone to secure a safe path for the rest of us to follow. Thank you to you, your family and the Tulsa Police Department. Our country is a little less safe without you. Rest in Peace Brother!

End of Watch Wednesday, June 30, 2020.

Rest in Peace brother and watch over us. We will protect and serve from here on in your honor.

I fight not for glory or fame, for they are momentary. I fight for those who can't. I fight for Justice. I fight for the oppressed and the down trodden. And if I should lose my life for these just causes, then I have no regrets, For I serve to protect the innocent. It matters not where or when, for evil knows no boundaries. Be it fire, flood, or the threat of tyranny, I will not flee. Justice is my weapon. Faith is my shield. Hope is my armor. Cry not at my passing, for it was my Honor to fight for you. Shed not tears of sorrow, But tears of joy, for now, I stand with God.

I feel how weak and fruitless must be any word of mine which should attempt to beguile you from the grief of a loss so overwhelming. But I cannot refrain from tendering you the consolation that may be found in the thanks of the Republic they died to save. I pray that our Heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost, and the solemn pride that must be yours to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of freedom.

Yours, very sincerely and respectfully,

Abraham Lincoln

Avenue of the Fallen

Standing at attention in their class “A“uniforms, badges gleaming and shoes like glass, are your brothers and sisters of Law Enforcement. All of whom have previously paid the ultimate price.
Today, like many others, they welcome you to this wonderful place.
As you march down the Avenue of the Fallen, all eyes focus on you as if to say “it’s OK, you’re with your eternal partners.”
A salute is followed and a tear can be seen on so many faces.
Welcome, you served well.
Now come join us in the ranks, another is coming home.

On behalf of our family to all your family sir, Our hearts bleed for all of you. Every time we loose another officer it rips through our souls as we know all too well what road all of you are now on, and must travel for the rest of your lives. No matter what please, please, please stay close to one another. You’re a HERO and will forever be a HERO!! We will NEVER FORGET the sacrifices each of you made by Your hero deciding to put on the uniform and badge EVERYDAY. May God give all of you peace knowing he saved the life of others and did so so proudly. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they are and will be called the Children of God. Sir, May you Rest In Peace and continue to show the signs to your family that you are around them, FOREVER. As a mother of a fallen hero, my son does this daily and knowing he’s still here, brings great comfort. So I ask you Sir....please be their guardian angel as they walk through the shadows of grief. All of the officer supporters and the officers you left behind, will take it from here, sir. RIP!!

Sgt. Johnson-

Thank you to you and your family for giving us the honor of knowing you. Always knew you would go on to do something big. Just thought it would be a happier story and something here in Oklahoma. Your charisma and commitment were unmatched. It was a pleasure to work alongside you against scrap metal offenders as an enforcement attorney. We had so many laughs waiting for court or meetings. Thank you for the kindness you showed anyone who wanted to be a solution to any problem.

The true measure of a person
is not found in the
might of their arm,
their wealth
or their power –
it is found in the strength
of their character.

There is no greater testimony to
ones character, than ones
willingness to sacrifice all,
in the noble quest of
providing protection to all
whom they serve.
