Sergeant Stephen Williams was a hero to many, but he was so much more to those who knew him. He was an exceptional worker, a mentor, a compassionate friend who had a loving and firm heart. And he showed that every day. But his love for his family is a pillar for what we all should strive to be. He did not hate anyone and I know I shall see him again one day. RIP Stephen. You are already missed.

Sergeant Blake Atkins
Calera Police Department

You never want to think about this happening to someone you know, let alone someone who is a personal friend. When you came to Calera PD I was your FTO, but you taught me way more than I could possibly teach you. Your name and memory are not in vain, and will never be forgotten; you touched entirely too many lives for that to happen. Rest easy my friend, we’ll hold the line for right now.
