Lionel my brother, I’m so heartbroken & I have gone through many tissues today since hearing of your passing.

I remember being a new boot at ACCD PD when we met. It’s hard to believe that was almost 19 years ago. I can’t describe how much I appreciated you & Juan putting up with my annoying questions & how you took me under your wing & got me through FTO when Juan left the Dept. How much I appreciated you always sticking up for me & for having my back, in good times & bad.

I’m so incredibly grateful that I got to see & talk with you recently at your off duty gig & all the laughs you & I had. I’m grateful for the 8 years that we got to work together at ACCD PD. We went through a lot together & no matter what was happening you always had a positive attitude. You always knew what advice to give me & I’m honored to have had the privilege of calling you my brother!

I miss you tremendously & I will continue to miss you for the rest of the time the Lord has for me here on Earth! I look forward to seeing you again in Heaven! My deepest condolences, love, respect & prayers are with you, your family & your family in blue.

Rest In Peace my brother & know that you touched a lot of lives & you absolutely made a positive difference in this world. It’ll never be the same without you but I promise you that you will never, ever be forgotten! I love you my brother!

Adiós mí hermano! Until we meet again! (Salute)

Those who knew Lionel also knew he had a great sense of humor. I remember his early days at “ACCD” (that’s what we called it back in the day) he was a very proactive officer. He was a go getter.

To Lionel’s family, we are Lionel’s brothers and sisters in Blue are here to serve you just as Lionel served the State of Texas. Rest In Peace Brother.
