Last night, I got word that made my whole world stop, you had been in an accident, and that we didn’t know if you were going to make it. Immediately my heart skipped a beat and all I could think about is the fact that I just saw you. All I can think about is the few times I had the privilege of training you and the many jokes we had about you being in the Cheerforce and me being a Marine, about how excited you were to be a cop, and me trying to give you tips on policing and passing your final evaluation in exchange for you giving me gym tips. Man, this hurts so bad. Your smile and laughter were so contagious and lit up the entire room....You were so young and had your whole life and family ahead of you. I promise you this, we are going to take care of your wife and children, and we will never let the world forget the sacrifice you paid. I am going to miss you dearly friend....brother, enjoy your rest, we got it from here.....Smyrna Police Officer Christopher Ewing Badge #1392 will be out of service remainder.....#OfficerDown #EndofWatch #OfficerChristopherEwing #SmyrnaPoliceDepartment
