Reflections for Probation and Parole Agent Kaitlin Marie Cowley

Rest in peace Probation and Parole Agent Cowley.

Rabbi Lewis S. Davis

I feel how weak and fruitless must be any word of mine which should attempt to beguile you from the grief of a loss so overwhelming. But I cannot refrain from tendering you the consolation that may be found in the thanks of the Republic they died to save. I pray that our Heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost, and the solemn pride that must be yours to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of freedom.

Yours, very sincerely and respectfully,

Abraham Lincoln

I don't believe I've ever met Kaitlin, but she was my sister. She graduated the Louisiana P&P Academy just one year after I did. I can't imagine what her family is going through. I pray for their strength to get through this. God Bless and Fly High!

A police officer should be remembered not by how she died, but how she lived! A great woman has gone to secure a safe path for the rest of us to follow. Thank you to you, your family and the Louisiana Department of Corrections. Our country is a little less safe without you. Rest in Peace Sister!

Agent Cowley, it is too young for anyone your age to die, but God must need you and have a special mission for you. Do not worry about your family you've left behind. May they find comfort in the hope and expectation that you will someday be reunited. May our Lord immerse you and them in His Divine Mercy. Rest in peace, good and faithful servant.
