Receiving these notices always hurt so much. I try to share the loss with my social media so that will some day understand that police are people too! We need to make more noise around loving and supporting our men and women in blue! Their lives matter and they don't deserve just because of the uniform they wear!!! I am so sorry Officer Putnam. I am so sorry to your family. I am so sorry to the San Marcos Police Family and State of Texas for this tremendous loss. In such horrific times, we still have busy evil taking place. THIS MUST STOP!!! Domestic Violence cases should be required to exit the home. No other police should be ambushed! Show your hands should become into effect ASAP! Too many of the same stories and if they don't come outside, prepare for the worst! Call on a taskforce that can better handle HOSTAGE situations because that's what it really is! Angery and heartbroken as a read this!

My deepest condolences to Officer Putnam's family and the San Marcos Police Department.

Once again Texas has lost a brave young officer to a cowardly act of violence but Officer Putnam's family can feel comfort in knowing that they will forever be surrounded by our blanket of blue in his honor and his memory.

Wherever they go, no matter the time of day, or the season of the year, whatever they need, we will be there for them. Tell us your problem and we will handle it for you at no charge.

Your tab has been been in advance for a lifetime and we are glad to do it. Your son, your husband, your grandson, your brother, Your Officer Putnam paid this tab for you and now its our turn repay that debt.

We mourn your loss and we don't understand why bad thing's happen to such good people. But what we do know is that he was doing what he loved at the time God ended his tour of duty, and he wouldn't have had it any other way.

I will continue to pray for you knowing that this was God's plan all along and while it breaks my heart everytime, I accept that.
