Detective Captain Parnell: Thanks for your service to your city, state and to this great nation. I too at one time served as a Detective Captain. I know that to have worked in such an important positions, you were probably one of Detroit's finest investigators. Our profession appreciates your sacrifice and dedication to service. Despite the dangers of this virus you were still out there doing your job.

Recon, I miss you so much and this still doesn’t seem real to me. I CANT EVEN BELIEVE I AM WRITING A REFLECTION FOR YOU!!! I want to pick up the phone so bad and call you right now!! I promise to never forget you and I will honor you by picking up where you left off and continuing to be a C.O.P... I think about you everyday and tears are flowing as I write this reflection. You were the real deal, a REAL COP and I always admired your working style and grit!! You showed so many officers how to be a C.O.P.!!! You left us too soon, Recon. I will forever cherish all the great memories while working together at CATS and Homicide. Miss and love you my friend

A police officer should be remembered not by how he died, but how he lived! A great man has gone to secure a safe path for the rest of us to follow. Thank you to you, your family and the Detroit Police Department. Our country is a little less safe without you. Rest in Peace Brother!

Even though the time has come to end the watch, they are still watching. Even though they are no longer with us, they are still teaching. The loss is new and the pain is great but we carry on for our family’s sake. Give us the keys, we’ll take over from here. Now is the time to release your fears. We got your watch, we’ll carry on, rest with peace my brother for your never really gone.
