Our family mourns the loss of an outstanding individual in Justin. We met him briefly last summer when he joined our neighborhood. That brief encounter was positive and the fact that he was willing to serve says what a good person he was. I grieve for his young wife, his K-9, and the rest of his family. May he rest in peace.

Today is one of countless days you'll remember Trooper Schaffer. Washington joins you in remembering him today; thanking you for your great sacrifice along with his. Our state and communities would not remotely resemble what they are without families such as yours stepping up to do and defend what's good, right, honorable.

After the senseless killing of another good trooper (Tony Radulescu) in our state I, like many other concerned citzens of WA state, hoped there won't be another trooper to lose his/her life while keeping our freeways and highways safe from the garbage who have no regard for human life. It's sad to know another brave trooper died in the line of duty in our state. And I personally hope that in spite of all the restrictions in place due to the spread of this nasty virus Trooper Schaffer will be buried with the honors he deserves and with all his colleagues and the concerned public by his side.
Thank you Trooper Justin R. Schaffer for your service. And tell trooper Radulescu when you meet him in heaven that the world is much different now than when he left. Poor Tony will be glad to see one of his brothers enter the gates.
I applaud both troopers for their sacrifice and all my respects go to them.
RIP, fine heroes.
