“Those who mourn are blessed, for they will be comforted.” [Matthew 5:4 HCSB], and;

“No one has greater love than this, that someone would lay down his life for his friends.” [John 15:13 HCSB]

Depart in peace, Brother-in-Blue; in the name of God the Father who created you; in the name of Christ Jesus who redeemed you; in the name of the Holy Spirit who sanctifies you. May you rest in peace and dwell forever with the Lord. Amen.

Chris it was a pleasure to be with you at the beginning of your career and serve as an FTO for you and I was overcome with disbelief as I knelt by your side at the end. I am still lost for words trying to understand why you were taken so soon. Because of you I will forever contemplate the "duality of man". Rest easy now with Katherine.

Senior Deputy R. Marburger (5D31)
Travis County Sheriff's Office

The first time I met Chris he helped me disarm a knife wielding lady who was suffering from a mental health crisis. While she stabbed at us with two large knives we were able to wrestle her down and disarm her with only minor injuries for her or ourselves. Without your courage that day I know it would not have ended so peacefully.

The world was made better by your service. Thank you, Chris. Be at peace.

The true measure of a person
is not found in the
might of their arm,
their wealth
or their power –
it is found in the strength
of their character.

There is no greater testimony to
ones character, than ones
willingness to sacrifice all,
in the noble quest of
providing protection to all
whom they serve.
