Reflections for Deputy Sheriff Cooper Andrew Dyson

Deputy Dyson,

I learned tonight you are panel neighbors to our fallen deputy (Andrew Peery EOW 8-7-22). I got to meet your wife tonight at the LE memorial in DC, while paying my respects to Andrew. What an amazing woman. She swooped in and comforted my brothers at a moment that couldn’t have been timed any better. Thank you for that gift. (Everything happens for a reason, right?)

Thank you for your sacrifice my brother. We will meet someday on the other side.

I was at home sleeping safe and sound when Deputy Cooper Dyson was responding to an emergency call for assistance to aid his fellow officers dealing with a volatile subject. I am thankful to these brave officers who answer the call to serve so that I can sleep peacefully. This young man gave his all in serving both his country as well as the residents of Pierce County, WA for which I am eternally grateful. I will never forget #579! May he rest in peace!

Deputy Dyson, though your children no longer have you physically, I'm sure they will know your love for them through the wife you also leave behind. A terrible tragedy for all law enforcement, but felt most by those who know and love you best.

God Bless and may you forever Rest in Peace, Brother.

Sheriff Dyson, our good Lord took you away at a very young age, with an expectant wife and a little child. Only He knows the reason why, but for sure, your reward in heaven will be abundant. May He immerse you and those you've left behind in His Divine Mercy. Rest in peace, good and faithful servant.

As I reflect on my great nephew 's life, I
Remember a laughing little boy, full of life and mischief who loved his grandparents so very much.
I remember a cute young man, who ,on his way to Alaska, sleeping in my living room.

I remember a middle school kid who had fun meeting and hanging out with his new
cousin, Chase, one thanksgiving when we traveled to Washington to spend Thanksgiving with the Dysons.

I remember the the tall high schoolboy we delivered to school everyday for a week while his Grandmother and I held the fort down while his parents were on a trip.

I remember all the great stories of his high school graduation, his military service, his marriage to Britteny, the birth of his son and how proud we all were of his training to become a deputy sheriff.

And now, I will remember him everytime a hear a siren or see a sheriff's car.

Remember, we never know when God will
call us home. Love one another and take time to tell your loved ones that.

The true measure of a person
is not found in the
might of their arm,
their wealth
or their power –
it is found in the strength
of their character.

There is no greater testimony to
ones character, than ones
willingness to sacrifice all,
in the noble quest of
providing protection to all
whom they serve.

Heavenly Father, You are always faithful and quick to show mercy. Deputy Sheriff Cooper Dyson, of the Pierce County, Washington Police Department, was taken from us on Saturday, December 21, 2019. He was killed, in the Line-of-Duty, in a single-vehicle collision while responding to back-up other deputies at a domestic violence incident. Come swiftly to his aid, have mercy on him, and comfort his family, friends, and colleagues by the power and protection of the Cross. We ask this through our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ; for He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one can go to the Father except by way of the Son. Amen.

“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons [children] of God.” [Matthew 5:9 ESV]

“And he [Jesus] said to him, “Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise.” [Luke 23:43 ESV]

“Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.” [John 15:13 ESV]

“Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.” [Matthew 5:4 ESV]
