What a sad day for Alabama Law Enforcement and law enforcement through this entire country. Big John was not just the Sheriff of Lowndes county, Al but he was also the father of it. He is well known to everyone who lived in that county and was highly respected by every State Trooper, Deputy Sheriff and city police officers. The citizens of Lowndes county loved and respected Big John. He would noy allow you to call him Sheriff, he quickly tell you call me Big John. He was member of The United States Marine Corps and served his country well. I have worked beside Big John several times as a road trooper and never had to ask for any help, he would always be there or made sure one of his deputies would be there. Big John you will greatly missed by all, and we love you SIR!! GOD SPEED!!! Rest in PEACE BIG JOHN WILLIAMS 11-23-2019.
