Reflections for Deputy Sheriff Christopher Michael Hulsey

Heavenly Father, our hearts and prayers go out to the Meade County, Kentucky Sheriff’s Office and for the family, friends, and colleagues of Deputy Sheriff Chris Hulsey, of the Meade County Sheriff’s Office, who died in the Line-of-Duty on Saturday, September 21, 2019. Depart, dear Brother-in-Blue, out of this world into the arms of the Father who created you, into the arms of the Son who redeemed you, and into the arms of the Spirit who made you whole. You have fought the good fight, you have finished the race, and you have kept the faith [Inspired by 2Timothy 4:7]. Now rest easy in peace. We will take it from here. Amen.

Jesus teaches us the following:

1. “Blessed are those who mourn. They will be comforted.” [Matthew 5:4];
2. “Blessed are those who make peace. They will be called God’s children.” [Matthew 5:9];
3. "The greatest love you can show is to give your life for your friends.” [John 15:13], and;
4. “I [Jesus] can guarantee this Truth: Today you will be with Me in Paradise.” [Luke 23:43].

It is always so difficult to see another officer go down in the line. This is especially true when it is an officer from our own county where a Deputy Sheriff is not just someone in a brown uniform but is a friend from our community. In my 40 plus years in Law Enforcement I have lost several friends, partners and even family members who fell; it always breaks ones heart at the loss of both the officer as well as for their family and friends. May Almighty God and our Lord Jesus grant you rest Chris, and comfort your family.
