Office O’Sullivan your life was taken too soon and by a coward. You were very brave and I know I can not say what I think about what should have happened to the coward who took your brave life. Thank you for your service. Prayers to your family and your Department.

Officer O'Sullivan - my heart aches for you and your loved ones. Your SacPD family are devastated at your loss. We all wonder if there was any more we could have done, any single action that would have changed the outcome and sent you home to your loved ones Wednesday night. The last few days seem like a nightmare that will never end. But I know for those closest to you, your teammates and your family - you will be remembered for your smile, your courage, your dedication...all of the wonderful qualities that made you not a nameless peacekeeper but Tara, a lovely 26 year old with a beautiful soul and so much to give to the world.

Your time with us was short but I assure you you will NEVER be forgotten.

Rest in Peace Officer O'Sullivan...we have the watch from here...

Those who rage against "militarizing" the Police read this heart wrenching story and see that only and armored vehicle could reach Officer O'Sullivan. How tragic it was too late.

Officer O'Sullivan, Sister, you are mourned here but your courage and dedicated service, though brief, is celebrated. God Bless and may your eternal rest be ever peaceful.

As an aspiring victim advocate, I am deeply proud of your courage to truly help those trapped in a volatile and dangerous situation. From your studies in developmental psychology, you knew the consequences of lifelong violence and constant upheaval. You understood what the woman you protected was giving up by leaving a violent household.

Officer O'Sullivan, rest well. ⭐️You are a hero and will be missed, but you will never be forgotten. I will always think of you when I need guidance on a tough case. The world needs more of you.♥️ Thank you for your service.

Officer O'Sullivan:
Thank you for serving the great citizens of California and this great nation. Your agency is just over the Sierras from us and I've had the pleasure of working often with Sacramento PD and with Sac Sheriff's Office personnel over the years-- both top notch and ultra professional agencies. I'm so sorry you were not able to live your life longer and in turn contribute to making our society a better place to live. The selfish act by the perpetrator was something none of us could stop--in contrast you bring honor, sacrifice and dignity to all Americans and or our great profession . Thank you.

Dearest Officer Tara Christina O'Sullivan,
I wish my words could convey the pain in my heart over the loss of your life. All the commitment, love and energy you put in to serve us. Thank you, thank you. We have all been robbed of your life, love and service far too soon. I wish I understood it all, but I am grieving alongside your parents and family members - as well as the Department and our community. I am in Sacramento. My daughter is a 23 year old officer in City of Davis. I pray for all of you every day and prayed the night you were in the hospital. We all wish we could bring you back. My love and prayers are offered to your family. I pray that you will be rewarded richly in God's grace and that we will see you again someday. God Bless.

Tara was one of my good friends from college. She was my coworker at Sacramento State and we both decided to take a Judo class together. Ever since I met her, she was extremely determined to become a part of SAC PD. Every single day she trained herself to become mentally and physically developed to become a cop. While we were partners in our Judo class, she had broken her wrist. Being the tough girl that she was, having a broken wrist did not hinder her from performing Judo moves on me. She would throw me onto the ground, put me in choke holds and would continuously show her perseverance to become an overall robust woman to join the Sacramento Police Department. Tara was a giver at heart, she was always so kind and had a very humorous personality. Her passion was to give back to the community and make the City of Sacramento a better place. I am devastated that she is gone. We all are. Tara will always be remembered for protecting the Sacramento community and for being a very bright intellectual. We will miss you Tara. #RIPTara
