RIP Jordan. It’s still hard to understand why it had to be you, its unfair. You have given the ultimate sacrifice so that others could be safe and I respect you for that. You are a true HERO and I will never forget you. I hope to see that same big smile again.

Officer Sheldon, thank you for your service. It's tragic that you were taken so needlessly by an individual who committed suicide just one cop too late.

The true measure of a person
is not found in the
might of their arm,
their wealth
or their power –
it is found in the strength
of their character.

There is no greater testimony to
ones character, than ones
willingness to sacrifice all,
in the noble quest of
providing protection to all
whom they serve.

Thank-you, Officer Sheldon. You are a hero. Your courage kept you going to work every day knowing that even though 90% of the people you stop are unlikely to assault you, there is evil in the world, and one day that person you stop will be a violent criminal. And still, you did your job every day, keeping us safe and keeping our communities as peace. “Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.” Thank-you.

I feel how weak and fruitless must be any word of mine which should attempt to beguile you from the grief of a loss so overwhelming. But I cannot refrain from tendering you the consolation that may be found in the thanks of the Republic they died to save. I pray that our Heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost, and the solemn pride that must be yours to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of freedom.

Yours, very sincerely and respectfully,

Abraham Lincoln
