Someone as brave as this man who takes a job that is dangerous makes all of us appreciate him and sad that he had died from a vehicle crash from someone who is a reckless driver.

I'm sorry for your loss, another hero.. may he rest in peace, it's sad how we lose some patrols that are just doing their job too people who are driving their vehicle crazy. He will never be forgotten for the great job he was doing and how long he served the California Highway Patrol.

It' s very upsetting to know that more lives are being taken away just like that, by reckless driving. People should show more respect and honor to those who had died to protect us. May he rest in peace, and he will be forever loved.

By reading what happened I can see that it was a tragic death. You have my condolences and my dearest apologies to the family of this tragic accident. judging by the bio and what I read I can infer that he was a good man and it is a shame he had to lose his life in that way.

It's unfortunate that another life has been lost because of reckless driving. No matter how long you've been at your job, or how good you are, you can't predict or control the unknown. Honor those who have been lost, instead of mourning over something that was out of your control. I hope he rests in peace and he will be missed but never forgotten.

A police officer should be remembered not by how he died, but how he lived! A great man has gone to secure a safe path for the rest of us to follow. Thank you to you, your family and the California Highway Patrol. Our country is a little less safe without you. Rest in Peace Brother!

My heart is broken. I can't believe this happened to Steve. I'll always remember his smile and laugh and his love for his family and son Nathan. He'll be missed so much, by so many. I feel how weak and fruitless must be any word of mine which should attempt to beguile you from the grief of a loss so overwhelming. But I cannot refrain from tendering you the consolation that may be found in the thanks of the Republic they died to save. I pray that our Heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost, and the solemn pride that must be yours to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of freedom.

Yours, very sincerely and respectfully,

Abraham Lincoln
