It will be a very sad time in the State of Illinois as Illinois State Trooper Brooke Jones-Story lost her life after being struck and killed by a tractor trailer while she was conducting a routine traffic stop on United States Highway 20. It is a loss that effects all law enforcement in many ways when accidents or shootings take the lives of many law enforcement officers almost on a daily basis. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family of Trooper Brooke, the entire Illinois State Police, and the entire State of Illinois at this time.

First I say to the husband and parents I’m so sorry for your loss. My 24 year old son was killed in much the same way. But how do these these things keep happening?? We have pull over laws and they should be strictly enforced as well as having respect for another human being . I don’t understand this at all . I will say a prayer for your loved one .

Lord God, our hearts and prayers go out to the Illinois State Police and for the family, friends, and colleagues of Trooper Brooke Jones-Story, of the Illinois State Police, who was killed in the Line-of-Duty on Thursday, March 28, 2019. Depart, dear Sister-in-Blue, out of this world into the arms of the Father who created you, into the arms of the Son who redeemed you, and into the arms of the Spirit who made you whole. “You have fought the good fight, you have finished the race, and you have kept the faith” [2Timothy 4:7]. Now rest easy in peace. We will take it from here. Amen.

Scripture teaches us that:
“Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.” [Matthew 5:4]
“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons [children] of God.” [Matthew 5:9]
“Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.” [John 15:13]

A police officer should be remembered not by hows he died, but how she lived! A great woman has gone to secure a safe path for the rest of us to follow. Thank you to you, your family and the Illinois State Police. Our country is a little less safe without you. Rest in Peace Sister!

I never had the opportunity to meet this officer but it’s a sad day when one is lost-it takes a lot to get that job and it shouldn’t end because of stupidity!
