Reflections for Deputy Sheriff Antonio Hinostroza, III

My condolences to the family and friends of Deputy Sheriff Antonio Hinostroza. Losing a loved one is always hard. Please try to take comfort in Jesus words found at John 5:28,29 where he sadi that there would be a resurrection. Just think of the time when you will see your loved ones again, in paradise conditions, here on earth.

Brother, it's a situation we've all been in and all have our stories. How horrible that they don't all end up with simply nervous laughter about what happened. And this is true as well in the case of the person responsible for your death. Had he simply cooperated, this tragic event never would have had the same conclusion.

We mourn the loss of a Fellow Law Enforcement Officer and pray for all who know and love you best who now feel such a terrible loss.

Thank you for all your service to this nation. May God Bless you and may your eternal rest be ever peaceful, Deputy.

I feel how weak and fruitless must be any word of mine which should attempt to beguile you from the grief of a loss so overwhelming. But I cannot refrain from tendering you the consolation that may be found in the thanks of the Republic they died to save. I pray that our Heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost, and the solemn pride that must be yours to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of freedom.

Yours, very sincerely and respectfully,

Abraham Lincoln

Every morning I go to my knees. During that time I pray Psalm 91 over all LEO’s and this prayer also:

“Lord, Be with all law enforcement officers. Keep them safe and free from harm. They are Your soldiers on the front line of the battle against evil. If one should fall this day - wrap their family in your loving arms. Surround them with Your angels, loving family, friends, neighbors and caring people to comfort them. Ease their pain. Help them to mourn well. In Jesus' name and for Your Glory, Amen.”

I know that God sends those angels to watch over our officers, sometimes to protect them and sometimes to whisk our officers into His presence.

Feel His presence as God answers the prayers of many who have fallen to their knees on your behalf. Since the day of my son's death, I have carried every law enforcement officer and their family in my heart.

I have lifted your family to God every morning for over seven years. I pray that Antonio's life and death will bring glory to God.

Trust those prayers. God is with you; He knows and will ease your pain.

Our faith helps us to see beyond the grave.
