My thought and prayers are with the family of Officer Jared Franks and the Greensboro, NC Police Department at this time of tragedy. Thought it is the week before Thanksgiving and it will be a sad one for the family of Greensboro, NC Police Officer Jared Frank because he was killed in an automobile accident and it will sure be a sad Christmas as well because he will not be there to celebrate these two holidays at all.

"The Final Inspection"
The policeman stood and faced his God,
Which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining.
Just as brightly as his brass.
"Step forward now, policeman.
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My church have you been true?"
The policeman squared his shoulders and said, "No, Lord, I guess I ain't,
Because those of us who carry badges can't always be a saint.
I've had to work most Sundays,
and at times my talk was rough,
and sometimes I've been violent,
Because the streets are awfully tough.
But I never took a penny,
That wasn't mine to keep....
Though I worked a lot of overtime
When the bills got just too steep.
And I never passed a cry for help,
Though at times I shook with fear.
And sometimes, God forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around
Except to calm their fear.
If you've a place for me here,
Lord, It needn't be so grand.
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't.....I'll understand.
There was silence all around the throne
Where the saints had often trod.
As the policeman waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, policeman,
You've borne your burdens well.
Come walk a beat on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in hell."

A PRAYER DEDICATED TO POLICE OFFICER JARED W. FRANKS:

God of Mercy, we come boldly and humbly before Your throne in sincere faithful and fervent prayer. You are the Light, the Love, and the Life. We pray for the family and colleagues of Police Officer Jared W. Franks, of the Greensboro, North Carolina Police Department, who was killed in the Line-of-Duty in a vehicle crash at the intersection of South Elm-Eugene Street and Webster Road while responding to a Robbery-in-Progress call. We thank Police Officer Jared W. Franks for his service to his community, state, and country. He is a "True Blue Hero". Bless the lives of his family so that they might find healing. Help the Greensboro Police Department comfort and support his family in their time of grief. Even though his death may have been senseless, make something good come out of this incident so that the Greensboro Police Department and the City of Greensboro, in which Police Officer Jared W. Franks served, might be stronger because of his life and death. We pray all these things, in His mighty and holy name. Amen.

Rest in Peace our Hero-in-Blue. We will take it from here! God speed my Brother-in-Blue! And for the family, friends, and the Greensboro Police Department, in which he served, please find comfort in Jesus’ words, “Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.” [Matthew 5:4 NKJV].

For the Lord Jesus proclaimed, “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons [children] of God." [Matthew 5:9 ESV] and "Greater love has no one than this that someone lay down his life for his friends." [John 15:13 ESV]. For the Lord Jesus promised, “… Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise!” [Luke 23:43 EVS].

May God watch over the family and fellow officers these heroes worked with. We can only imagine their pain. But we can sympathize with them and we must support them. Running to the danger when all others run away from it. Selfless and fearless to the end. They now work heavens Beat. And are in God's hands forever. Ever watching down on us all.
