Deputy Vasquez,
Your dedication to public service is Always in our hearts and minds. Your short but courageous career will never be forgotten. We now teach our recruits about the risks and tactics to use in a perilous waterbourne environment. I will mention your name to our officers during the training tomorrow (and in future classes) so your spirit will be with us. I know Your family and friends will also be proud of your name being honored in this fashion.
With gratitude. Rest well sister.

R.I.P. SISTER Loren Y. Vasquez!!!

Nebraska Police Officer

November 12, 2018

My heart goes out to this officer's friends, family, and department. I hope that everyone can find comfort in Revelation 21:4 "And he (God) will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away". One day, we'll be able to welcome back our loved ones that we've lost to death and never have to lose them again. Until then, my sincerest condolences goes out to everyone that knew this brave officer.

So very sad. The loss of Deputy Vazquez has touched the whole community and beyond . Deputy Vazquez spent her life in public service. She was also a long time volunteer firefighter with the Hempstead volunteer fire department. Although I did not know Deputy Vazquez her loss is still hard. She was so young , having family in law-enforcement from California, Harris County Tx, North Carolina and New York as well as firefighters and paramedics. I can’t imagine and pray I never get that call. Today is Deputy Vazquez’s Funeral. The procession to Community of faith went by my house (as the church is on the corner)we heard what seem to be hundreds of sirens and tears streaming down my face. May you Rest In Peace Deputy Vazquez you will never be forgotten and you, your family and the Waller County Sheriffs department will forever be in my prayers

The true measure of a person
is not found in the
might of their arm,
their wealth
or their power –
it is found in the strength
of their character.

There is no greater testimony to
ones character, than ones
willingness to sacrifice all,
in the noble quest of
providing protection to all
whom they serve.

"The Final Inspection"
The policeman stood and faced his God,
Which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining.
Just as brightly as his brass.
"Step forward now, policeman.
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My church have you been true?"
The policeman squared his shoulders and said, "No, Lord, I guess I ain't,
Because those of us who carry badges can't always be a saint.
I've had to work most Sundays,
and at times my talk was rough,
and sometimes I've been violent,
Because the streets are awfully tough.
But I never took a penny,
That wasn't mine to keep....
Though I worked a lot of overtime
When the bills got just too steep.
And I never passed a cry for help,
Though at times I shook with fear.
And sometimes, God forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around
Except to calm their fear.
If you've a place for me here,
Lord, It needn't be so grand.
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't.....I'll understand.
There was silence all around the throne
Where the saints had often trod.
As the policeman waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, policeman,
You've borne your burdens well.
Come walk a beat on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in hell."

Every morning I go to my knees. During that time I pray Psalm 91 over all LEO’s and this prayer also:

“Lord, Be with all law enforcement officers. Keep them safe and free from harm. They are Your soldiers on the front line of the battle against evil. If one should fall this day - wrap their family in your loving arms. Surround them with Your angels, loving family, friends, neighbors and caring people to comfort them. Ease their pain. Help them to mourn well. In Jesus' name and for Your Glory, Amen.”

I know that God sends those angels to watch over our officers, sometimes to protect them and sometimes to whisk our officers into His presence.

Feel His presence as God answers the prayers of many who have fallen to their knees on your behalf. Since the day of my son's death, I have carried every law enforcement officer and their family in my heart.

I have lifted your family to God every morning for over seven years. I pray that Loren's life and death will bring glory to God.

Trust those prayers. God is with you; He knows and will ease your pain.

Our faith helps us to see beyond the grave.
