I was at a conference this week and came across a picture of Dennis as a 2018 officer death. I had not heard from Dennis in many years since he was a rescue worker during Hurricane Rita in 2005. Dennis was such a kind and dedicated officer during his time in Louisiana. We are saddened to hear of his passing and out thoughts and prayers are with his family and agency. All of us here will display his agency patches proudly! Rest easy my friend

Dennis:

Thank you for being my patient supervisor for many long years.

Thank you for keeping me sane during several tragic and difficult events.

Thank you for showing me what true courage looks like.

Thank you for being a shining example of a good husband and father.

And thank you for mentoring my children, who laughed when you were around, and shed tears at your passing.

Your influence will live on forever.

God speed on your new adventure until we meet again!

The true measure of a person
is not found in the
might of their arm,
their wealth
or their power –
it is found in the strength
of their character.

There is no greater testimony to
ones character, than ones
willingness to sacrifice all,
in the noble quest of
providing protection to all
whom they serve.

Every morning I go to my knees. During that time I pray Psalm 91 over all LEO’s and this prayer also:

“Lord, Be with all law enforcement officers. Keep them safe and free from harm. They are Your soldiers on the front line of the battle against evil. If one should fall this day - wrap their family in your loving arms. Surround them with Your angels, loving family, friends, neighbors and caring people to comfort them. Ease their pain. Help them to mourn well. In Jesus' name and for Your Glory, Amen.”

I know that God sends those angels to watch over our officers, sometimes to protect them and sometimes to whisk our officers into His presence.

Feel His presence as God answers the prayers of many who have fallen to their knees on your behalf. Since the day of my son's death, I have carried every law enforcement officer and their family in my heart.

I have lifted your family to God every morning for over seven years. I pray that Dennis' life and death will bring glory to God.

Trust those prayers. God is with you; He knows and will ease your pain.

Our faith helps us to see beyond the grave.

May God watch over the family and fellow officers these heroes worked with. We can only imagine their pain. But we can sympathize with them and we must support them. Running to the danger when all others run away from it. Selfless and fearless to the end. They now work heavens Beat. And are in God's hands forever. Ever watching down on us all.

RIP my brother. I have so many great memories of you and the times we had together. We spent many days together and none of those were bad days. Some of them started out as bad days…..sometimes very bad days; but the minute you showed up it immediately turned into a good day. I will miss you so much but, each and every time I think of you I will no doubt get a smile on my face. You touched so many lives and made them all better in the process.
