On behalf of the men and women of the Glynn County BOE Police and the Georgia Association of Chiefs of Police District 5 where Chief McClelland was an active member, we express our condolences to the family and uplift this servant and his family in prayer. This incident demonstrates that police work can turn tragic in a matter of seconds, no matter if in Los Angeles or Ludowici. Godspeed Chief...rest easy. Thanks you for your selfless service for decades. "Greater love hath no man than to lay down his life for another".

The true measure of a person
is not found in the
might of their arm,
their wealth
or their power –
it is found in the strength
of their character.

There is no greater testimony to
ones character, than ones
willingness to sacrifice all,
in the noble quest of
providing protection to all
whom they serve

If these horrid events had to happen (and they didn't) thank God it was in Georgia and not Massachusetts. Justice may be attained in Georgia.

Chief, thank you for your service. How tragic that you were not even involved directly in the pursuit and yet your life was taken by a vile degenerate. You will not be forgotten.

God Bless you, Brother and as your loved ones (both on and especially OFF the job) keep you in their hearts and minds, you will never truly be gone from them. Rest in Peace.

Ptl. Jim Leahy, Jr.
